Work with mentors and our partner organizations to provide information to the public about the impact of hearing loss and create learning opportunities for young adults with hearing loss and their families.
Organize activities to promote self-advocacy skills in young adults with hearing loss.
Provide tools and knowledge to young adults who are D/deaf or hard of hearing to support them in achieving their goals.
We have learned that it takes a community to educate and support a child with hearing loss from their early years to adulthood. Hear Here Hartford partners with educators, parent organizations, and medical professionals from around the state. Each partner organization provides a variation of support that families and individuals with hearing loss will need at different points in their lives.
Our organization and subsequent activities are comprised of individuals from across the D/deaf and hard of hearing community.
We work to educate the community on the impact of hearing loss and to teach young adults with hearing loss how to self advocate.
You can make a difference by mentoring teens and young adults with hearing loss and help them realize their full potential.
As a chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) we and our partners organize the annual Walk4Hearing in Connecticut.
Each year Hear Here Hartford uses funds raised at events to provide eligible students with college or graduate-level degree scholarships.
Teens and young adults with hearing loss are often isolated. Hear Here Hartford events provide a social circle where they can connect and communicate across modalities.
